The period between 3 and 14 weeks of age is the most critical time for puppy socialization. During this window, puppies are most receptive to new experiences, making it the ideal time to expose them to various people, animals, sounds, and environments. Our structured puppy socialization classes at Paws & Applause LLC provide a safe, controlled environment where your puppy can develop essential social skills that will last a lifetime.
Led by our NePoPo® Graduate trainer with over 25 years training dogs and deep experience in puppy development and behavior.
Carefully supervised play sessions with puppies of similar age and temperament to ensure positive experiences.
Exposure to various textures, sounds, and experiences to build a confident, well-adjusted adult dog.
Introduction to essential commands like sit, come, and stay using positive reinforcement techniques.
Controlled interactions with people of different ages, helping puppies become comfortable with strangers.
Gentle handling exercises to prepare puppies for grooming, vet visits, and everyday care.

Puppies can start socialization classes as early as 8 weeks old, after their first set of vaccinations. The critical socialization period is between 3-14 weeks, so starting early is beneficial. We maintain strict health protocols to ensure all puppies' safety.
Shy or fearful puppies often benefit the most from socialization classes! Our experienced trainer knows how to work with timid puppies, providing gentle encouragement and positive experiences. We can also recommend private sessions if needed to build confidence before group classes.
We group puppies by age, size, and temperament to ensure safe and positive interactions. We limit classes to 6 puppies maximum to provide individual attention and maintain control. Play groups are carefully supervised and adjusted as needed.
Absolutely! We encourage puppy parents to participate in classes. You'll learn training techniques to practice at home and understand your puppy's body language better. Your involvement is crucial for your puppy's continued learning and development.
